Self Introduction Essay

My name is Krystal Medina and I am 27 years old. I am a native Californian but a Texas girl by heart. I moved from Texas to California about two years ago, to expand my horizons. It has been the best decision that I have made in my life. I have been introduced to a different way of living, new cultures, experiences and many people.

I come from a family of four, me being the oldest. My little brother who I call little because he is my only brother is 23 years old. He attends the college in Fort Collin, Colorado, and he is the person I most look up to for his intelligence and determination. My parents, who reside in Texas and have been married for 26 years, are extremely hard workers. They have always provided the necessities that I and my brother have needed. We are a Hispanic family who are fluent in both English and Spanish. However, neither I nor my bother nor my parents were born in Mexico. We are 100% Americans. My grandparents and great-grandparents are who give us our Mexican blood, being from different parts of Mexico.

I currently work for Barrel 10 Quarter Circle as a Microbiology Technician, which is known for the two buck chuck wine. I am and have always been interested in anything that has to do with the sciences. I received my B.S in Biology from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas. However, I am currently attending Lincoln University and pursuing a degree in Diagnostic Imaging. I recently decided that I needed a change in careers and wanted to aim my focus towards the medical field. Being a lab rat just was not what I saw myself doing for the rest of my life!

As for the near future, I plan on finishing up my degree in Diagnostic Imaging. I want to do well and excel in both my education and in my life. After completing my degree, I plan on finding a job that is steady and pays well. As for the far future, I plan on having a family and enjoying the many wonders of life. I also plan on furthering my education by later obtaining a masters degree or even a PhD.

Moving to California has been the best decision that I have made in my life. I was presented with opportunities and motivation to improve and better my life. I am now furthering my education and seeking new career goals, with the support of my family and friends. I want to succeed in meeting my goals and finishing my degree and becoming a Sonographer, so that I will be able to provide for my family in the far future.
